Happy Birthday!
Today are the 200th birthdays for Charles Darwin and Abraham Lincoln. And, not coincidentally, it's also the 100th birthday of the NAACP.
Happy birthday to all three of them; I imagine they would be pleased with their legacies. Darwin would see that his theory of natural selections has become the primary explanation for the process of evolution, which the bedrock of all the life sciences. Lincoln would be happy to see that the Union is still going strong (and still united). And the NAACP must feel gratified to see its hard work paying off by having helped pave the road for someone like Obama to become president.
