I'm looking for a reasonably priced hosting service that offers mySQL and php services. I'm using Omnis.com but wouldn't want to pay the $16.95 a month (I currently use the $6.96 plan).

It looks like GXHosting.com or phpwebhosting.com might fit the ticket.

Anyway, this would be for the www.madrigaldinner.org web site where I'd like to have more flexibility with user management, etc.

Not even Dr. Seuss is

Not even Dr. Seuss is safe. Here's How the Grinch Stole Election Day.

I wonder if "Serbia Deploys Peacekeeping Forces To U.S." is going to be a genuine headline in a month or so...

Finally a site that allows you to do with (or to?) your presidential candidate what you really feel like doing.

There is an interesting page that shows a scatter plot graph corellating votes in Florida precincts. Looking at Buchanan's vs. other votes, it's pretty clear that Palm Beach displays a statisitcally significant anomality.

This Statesman delivery notice explains why I didn't find my paper on the porch this morning. They changed the headling at 2 AM from "Bush!" to "History on Hold" and had to reprint 59'000 copies!

I don't get the feeling

I don't get the feeling like much work is being acomplished at work today. Most of use keep popping up to discuss the ongoing election. The feelings here are quite polarized, although more people are pro-Gore (or rather anit-Bush).

I still can't believe that Bush may become president. Don't people realize what it means to be voting for the "leader of the free world"? Do they really want an unqualified dimwit just because they would feel more comfortable to invite over for a beer? I find this anti-intelectual attitude exhibited by so many voters apaling. Gore may lose because he's a wonk whose intelect makes people uncomfortable. Being president of the United States requires a little more aptitude than managing a baseball team financed by your buddies.

So I wake up this

So I wake up this morning and the friggin' election is still going on! And with surprising results. I kinda expected Bush to cary the popular vote and was hoping for Gore to squeeze by with an electoral victory, but it looks like the opposite is more likely to happen.

Pretty exciting, whatever the outcome.

I am thrilled to see

I am thrilled to see the vote swapping sites like VoteExchange.com and WinWinCampaign.org. They really give Nader voters in sing-states a chance to vote for their man without helping Bush and Gore voters in Bush-states a chance to affect the election with their vote. Democracy at its best (and I wish I could vote).
